Travel Photography - Rainbow Turban

A group of Sikh farmers protest in New Delhi
Rainbow Turban, New Delhi 1998 by Gautam Narang (Visual Smugglers, founder)

The story behind the picture, rainbow turban was taken in Delhi in 1998. It was another summer day in New Delhi.

While wandering through the streets, the sound of chanting got my attention. A protest is a great opportunity to get pictures of people passionate about something.

Whenever there was a protest, my camera would be loaded and I'll be in the thick of it. This, however, was a different kind of protest.

Firstly, you might be asking yourself, "Why are their so many different coloured turbans?" Well, this was a farmers protest and each colour represents a different region. When they come together they create a colourful array of diversity.
